A Brief History of COOLhouseplans.com...
In 1996, D. Jarret Magbee envisioned the first web site dedicated to the brokerage of house plans. One year later, a virtual showcase of house styles evolved into an unparalleled marketing vehicle for driving the American dream of home ownership. Jarret, bolstered by industry credentials, including a Master of Architecture degree, and an expansive construction background, gave his hot idea a cool name - COOLhouseplans.com, and set out to implement his brainchild for the Internet.
Shortly thereafter, Jarret made a powerful connection with Internet technology expert, Walter Raczkowski of Virtual Marketing Concepts, a website design and hosting company. With the right mix of dynamic marketing and technology know-how, COOLhouseplans.com was launched. Jarret turned out high-quality website design and coding, white Walt drew top designers to the website and spear-headed winning key word marketing campaigns. Their combined efforts placed COOLhouseplans.com in the top positions among the leading search engines.
Since the early days of COOLhouseplans.com 28,000 - plus home plans, representing more than 100 top designers and architects from the U.S. and Canada have been featured on the site. The inevitable next step for COOLhouseplans.com was the production of this home plans book. The recent acquisition of The Garlinghouse Company in January of 2006 made this publishing venture possible. The Best of COOLhouseplans.com is the first in a long line of books that we hope to produce. So, while this history may be brief, the promise of what's to come is expansive.
