Once a Spanish colony, Florida still retains architectural design influences from Spain, as well as the whole Mediterranean region. In Florida style houses, though, you’re much more likely to see exotic flourishes typical of Moorish and Byzantine house designs—made popular by elaborate resorts such as Disney World. Many of the floor plans in this collection feature typical Spanish features such as stucco exteriors, low-pitch roofs, and archways that are adorned with occasional embellishments, including parapets, spiral staircases, wrought iron accents, and intricately carved wood details.
