Residential Indoor and Outdoor Wood Stains and Concrete Stains
Stains are available for wooden products as well as concrete products. Wood stains are similar to paints but usually are not as opaque in order to show the grains of the wood. Wood stains are common among indoor wood fixtures such as trim work and wood floors. Wood stains are also popular in wooden furniture such as tables, cabinets, and shelves. Outdoor wood stains are popular selections for wooden features such as wooden privacy fences and wooden decks. These stains can turn wooden panels, and beams into many different colors of wood. Colored wood stains are available in many popular colors such as black wood stains, blue stains, cherry wood stains, maple wood finish, birch wood finish, espresso wood stains, and antique stains and waxes. External siding finishes are usually more opaque to minimize UV penetration and sun damage, water damage and other weathering. These stains are useful on wooden sided homes.

Concrete floor stains are used to decorate plain gray concrete into beautiful flooring designs which can resemble high quality flooring tiles. Concrete acid stains can bring your concrete floors to life by adding texture and pattern to your concrete floor. This style of staining actually reacts to elements in your cement and gives the concrete a semi-translucent sheen. Acrylic concrete stains act as more of a concrete dye which sinks into the surface of the concrete and colors the surface more consistently and evenly. For outdoor concrete stains, as well as outdoor wood stained floors, you may want to overlay the surface with a sealant to protect the color and reduce breakdown of your outdoor floor. Deck and patio sealants are usually clear and cover the stain without any color changes.
