Q:I need pricing on how much it cost to build this unit.
A:The price to build is determined by what amenities the customer chooses. The plans allow the customer to pick and choose electrical fixtures, appliances, plumbing fixtures, interior finish and exterior finishes to fit the customers budget and décor. For example, the plans will show a dishwasher in each unit but it is up to the customer to choose the exact model which can range in price from less than $500 to over $3500. That is a price variation of $24,000 for that one item and there are similar price differences for all of the items mentioned previously. Having said that, we can provide the prices that are being reported to us and they are as follows:
Low end - $65 to $75 per sq. ft. of heated area – in this price range, typically the least expensive amenities are used.
Mid range - $75 to $125 – this is the most typical price range and much nicer amenities are used such as granite counter tops, wood windows and tile flooring just to name a few.
High range – we have prices reported to us for high end luxury exceeding $750 per sq. ft.
In reality, most apartments are built using the low end amenities which would equate to $633,000 to $730,000 for this 8-plex. However, even lower prices are possible if the builder is extremely selective in the choice of materials and amenities.
