Q:One last question, the beam that is sticking out at the top, is it a support beam that goes all the way through, or a decorative beam?
A:The beam does not go all the way through the structure.
This 4” X 12” beam is more decorative than structural, but does have limited carrying capacity if anchored correctly.

Q:What are the dimensions of the upstairs room?
A:In answer to your question about the size of the upstairs room/loft for Plan #002D-6043,
the total area is 15’-4” X 23’-4” but the area under the 6’-7” high cross ties is 10’ X 23’-4”.

Q:Can an apartment be made out of the upper portion of the garage? Or is it designed to just be a loft?
A:Yes, it could be made into a small apartment with some plan modifications but keep in mind that the ceiling will be sloped and the ceiling height before it is finished is 6’-7”.
