A: Bring the plan to your local HVAC contractor and ask their advice on type of system and equipment placement that is common for your geographic location. If you already have the plans you will see that there is a 14" deep open web floor system between the 1st and 2nd floor that both the plenum and feeder ducts can be hidden in for a forced air system. A coil and blower unit can be placed in the shop area to supply the first floor and a horizontal unit can be placed in the attic to serve the second floor with condensing units behind the garage in climate zones like ours here in Arkansas. Your HVAC professional will give you the options for your area. Please feel free to contact me again with any other questions or comments you may have.
